Indian History Bee Contest

Chinmaya Mission Boston MetroWest is proud to announce the inaugural edition of the ‘Indian History Bee’, a quiz contest that will test your knowledge of the land of our Gurus, home to enduring traditions of Sanatana Dharma and one of the greatest surviving democracies in the modern world – INDIA!
The quiz will be an opportunity for us to celebrate the depth and richness of India’s history; her legendary saints, freedom fighters, notable musicians, eminent scientists, articulate writers, patriotic poets, classical dancers and valiant sportsperson. The inaugural edition of the quiz is for students between the grades of 6-8 and 9-12 enrolled in the Bala Vihar program at the Boston MetroWest chapter. The prescribed syllabus for the quiz will be the specific sections (refer page 2) from the book ‘Awakening Indians to India’, a Chinmaya Yuva Kendra compilation.
The quiz will consist of 2 rounds:
  • Round one will consist of a written test consisting of fifty (50) multiple choice questions that will be administered at Congregation B’nai Shalom in Westborough, MA on March 29, 2020
  • From round one, top 5 scorers from grade 6-8 and top 5 scorers from grade 9-12 will proceed to round two which will feature an on-stage format that will be hosted at Congregation B’nai Shalom in Westborough, MA on April 26, 2020 by Shruthi Siva, a 12th grade student at Chinmaya Bala Vihar. One winner and two runners-up from round two will be awarded gift cards and merit certificates.

Mar 29 Take the Round one written test on March 29, 2020 between 3:30pm-4:00pm ET at CBS, Westborough
Apr 5 Round One results to be announced during Bal Vihar assembly on April 5, 2020
Apr 26 If you are one of the top 10 high scorers from round one, shore up your preparations and attend Round two (on-stage quiz format) on April 26, 2020 between 3:30pm-4:00pm ET
